We sure can. Often banks may decline a client’s application for a mortgage, refinance or equity loan, if they know you owe taxes to Canada Revenue, property taxes or condo fees. Sometime they say, pay these taxes first, and then we will lend you the money. The irony in this though is that usually that is the reason why the client needs to borrow the money, to pay their taxes.
